WTVB: Preparing for possible Africa Swine Fever in Michigan

WTVB Radio in Coldwater previewed one of several meetings the Michigan Pork Producers Association held around the state to ensure producers are prepared for a possible disease outbreak in Michigan.

The Michigan Pork Producers Association will host an African Swine Fever preparedness meeting this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Michigan State University Extension Office on Marshall Road in Coldwater.

China currently has more than 90 reported cases which is deadly for pigs but does not harm humans.

The meeting is being held in conjunction with MSU-Extension and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
